"Glenn Lowry, Director Emeritus of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, invites Thomas Struth as part of the La Chaire du Louvre lecture series to a discourse at Musée du Louvre on December 1st. Together with Sébastien Allard, Director of the Musée du Louvre's Painting Collection, they will talk about the topic Un artiste et ses musées imaginaires (An Artist and his imaginary museums).
Yearly since 2009, La Chaire du Louvre has been offering a leading thinker of our time the opportunity to shed a light on the Musée du Louvre, its history, and its collection from their own perspective. This year, Glenn Lowry will analyse and discuss the subject matter Je veux un musée. J’ai besoin d’un musée. J’imagine un musée (I want a museum. I need a museum. I imagine a museum). Over the course of five evenings, lectures and discussions will explore the challenges museums are facing today, their changing role and their future prospects.
L’ Auditorium Michel Laclotte at Musée du Louvre - December 1st, 7pm
The talk will be held in French and English."
